The past events we’ve had in October and November have been spectacular. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate for the Rocket Launch on Sunday, October 2nd and we had to make the tough decision of cancelling the event. If you have your rockets, hang onto them, we will either reschedule the event or maybe work a rocket launch into future campout festivities.
Despite the weather challenges at the fall campout everyone had a great time shooting arrows and rifles, rock climbing, and most importantly spending time with our children. We had plenty of rain and wind but that did not dampen the fun. Gary Pitzer did a fantastic job hosting his first campout as Medicine Man.
Thanks to new Buckeye tribe for hosting a very fun Halloween party. As always, Jungle Terry was a treat. Capping off the campout was a stunning torch march and an even more stunning bonfire from our new Fire Makers, the Navajo tribe.
Thanks to Jim Senick and Joe Streibel of the Cherokee tribe for sponsoring our Ice Skating event at Ice Land on Sunday, November 13th. It was fun to see the kids get out on the ice and hilarious to see all of the Dads pretending to be hockey players and figure skaters, some dads made it look easier than others.
As we move into the holiday season and beyond please plan your schedule for the Brecksville Holiday Parade on Sunday, December 4th at 4pm, and Bumper Bowling on Sunday January 8th. Rounding out January is the Winter Campout on January 20th. Let’s hope the Medicine Man will get his snow dance right so we can enjoy sledding during the campout. Gary, you better start dancing now.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Please take some time to enjoy your family as we begin the holiday season. Families are something to be thankful for, especially our children.
