2011 Independence Home Days and Parade
Downtown Independence
The 95th Annual Independence Home Days Celebration is right around the corner and the CVNSND booth is back along with the parade.
The theme for this year's event is "Family". Our Float will be "CVNSND Longhouse Families Past, Present and Future (20 Years of Making Memories)" We are inviting past and present members and their families to march with us along with all family members. This will be a Family Event. We will be dressed up in our tie-died or CVNSND t-shirts and vests for the parade. We will have a float that some Longhouse Families will be able to ride on along with others walking along side the float passing out candy.
We will be marching in the Independence Home Days Parade, which will step off promptly at noon on Saturday, August 6th.. Please arrive at 11:30 A.M. as we will assemble near the intersection of Brecksville Road and Cherry Street (more specific instructions will follow via broadcast e-mail as the date arrives).
In addition, we will be sending out an e-mail in the near future with information for anyone interested in helping build the float for this year’s parade.
Through out the entire Home Days extravaganza, we will be running a booth complete with games and prizes in addition to the Kindergarten / First Grade raffle. Tribal chiefs should provide via e-mail the names and cell phone numbers of all your tribe's volunteers working the booth at the assigned times no later than July 31st, to Jim Senick, Earth Nation Chief (james.senick@sbcglobal.net).
The booth is also an extension of our recruiting season which began at the Brecksville Home Days in June and is a great way to keep our membership strong. The following schedule lists each tribe in a particular time slot for staffing the booth at this event (all times are PM).
